A more fun way would be to take a shared cab to Joshimath and get from Joshimath to Auli from there on the second longest cable car in India. This cable car is 16 km long, 22 minutes long, and blesses you with spectacular views of the Himalayan Garhwal Ranges and then from Rishikesh to Joshimath by taxi.
- Remember that after sunset on the roads between Rishikesh and Joshimath, cab/bus operators might not drive, they may promise you, but it’s risky.
Many taxi cabs transport passengers to Auli from Badrinath. Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport.

From Delhi to Joshimath, buses are also available. Auli is 10 km away from Joshimath, and you need to cover this distance by ropeway or by road.

Haridwar railway station, which is located 273 km from Auli, is the closest railway station to Auli. As the nearest railway heads to Auli, Dehradun and Rishikesh railway stations are also considered. You can catch a bus from Haridwar to Auli or rent a cab to Joshimath, from where you need to take a cable car or a bus to Auli.

One of the most common means of transportation in Auli is by cable car. Otherwise, buses are still, albeit irregularly, available. To travel around Auli, you can also book cabs from other towns.
